First seeded Cary Kolat of Lock Haven moved on to the second round with a pin against Salud of UC Davis in the 142 lb. class. Kolat is attempting to defend his national title.

Cary Kolat of Lock Haven gets an early single leg on Chris Ayres of LeHigh. Kolat repeats this after Ayres escapes and wins the match 14-4 with a major decision.

Defending national champion Cary Kolat of Lock Haven pinned eighth seed Brett Matter of Pennsylvania in 2:34.

Semi-finals defending national champion Cary Kolat defeated Scott Reyna of Oklahoma State 10-3.
