How do you feel about joining the staff as the strength and conditioning coach for Team Kolat?

I am very excited to be part of the Team Kolat staff and look forward to contributing to Cary's vision of having the best wrestling team in the country. I am devoted to developing Strength and Conditioning programs that will enable every team wrestler to reach a level of physical excellence. I am privileged to be able to work with Team Kolat in maximizing each wrestler's potential and producing champion wrestlers.

How your lifting program is going to benefit us as a team?

In the pursuit of excellence in the most physiologically demanding sport it is essential to integrate a Strength & Conditioning program to meet the rigorous demands of wrestling. Nowhere else in sports is the need for total body strength as evident as it is in wrestling. In today's athletics, the foundation of any wrestler's success on the mat is their year round sports skill development and strength program preparation. There are very few champion athletes who are physically weak; strength training is a must to become a standout athlete. The inclusion of a proven science based strength training program can significantly enhance performance in wrestling by increasing maximal force and power production. Wrestling success requires high levels of strength and power; therefore, sports specific lifts will be incorporated to provide the optimal carry over value for the wrestler. The Strength & Conditioning protocol will address all the metabolic, physiological and sustained anaerobic/aerobic requirements for a highly conditioned wrestler.

The benefits of having access to strength coach as a staff member of the team?

Competitive athletics and sports have greatly evolved as the athletes have become faster, stronger and more explosive over the past two decades. Implementation of Strength and Conditioning programs is the greatest single factor to have affected competitive athletics. Hand in hand, sports skills development and strength and conditioning training have enhanced athletic potential. The Strength and Conditioning Coach will be able to bridge the gap between exercise science/research and its practical application to the sport of wrestling. The role of the Strength and Conditioning Coach will be to assist every team wrestler to achieving an optimum physical performance level.
